A History of Ancient Egypt Illustrated and Annotated eBook James Henry Breasted
When I first bought this book, I went through the entire edition to see how well those producing it had handled the illustrations And annotations with hyperlinks, since these are presented as some of this edition's selling points. And I had just had a good experience reviewing another public domain text published by Charles Rivers Associates which had included very good illustrations and prefatory material. This edition has five illustrations in some 350+ pages. They do not add appreciably to the text. There are no annotations or hyperlinks of any kind although there is an active TOC. The book is, quite simply, sold on the basis of misrepresentations.
Still, James Henry Breasted WAS the preeminent American Egyptologist at the turn of the century. This particular effort was published in 1905. As an inexpensive introduction to the broad outlines of early Egyptian history, the book still serves its readers relatively well. With time, however, the book is losing its definitive and authoritative nature, and later scholarship has gone beyond Breasted's understandings. For a more up-to-date presentation, you will be better off buying "The Oxford History of Ancient Egypt."

A History of Ancient Egypt Illustrated and Annotated eBook James Henry Breasted Reviews
Interesting, informative just love books on Egypt. So much mystery surrounds this country
The review is for the E book purchased from . The book was authoritative and interesting, but there were so many miss spelled words, including small ones like "of" and "for". I imagine the original book had pictures and maps that would have made keeping track of art and places described easier, but only one map was included. Black and white would have been fine. Spaces had nothing to do with sentences or paragraphs making the reading somewhat difficult at times. Also, it was difficult to back track, as it was difficult to find the single map included when further along in the book.
